Holmatro Rescue Experience: the 35,000 Euro Extrication Challenge

During Interschutz – held from 8-13 June 2015 in Hannover, Germany - Holmatro will organize a special edition of the Holmatro Rescue Experience, called; ‘The 35,000 Euro Extrication Challenge.

Extrication teams from all over the world can sign up for this challenge to show their skills in realistic vehicle extrication scenarios. They will have the opportunity to work on brand new vehicles. The three winning teams will be rewarded with fantastic prizes worth € 35,000 in total.

About the event
This Rescue Experience will be a mix of competition and entertainment on all six days of this leading rescue exhibition. The 35,000 Euro Extrication Challenge is open to rescue teams from all over the world, consisting of six members each. One team after another will be challenged to respond to a unique 20-minute vehicle extrication scenario using Holmatro rescue equipment. All cars will be brand new, and rescuers will be able to practice their skills on the latest vehicle models. Before getting hands-on with their scenario, each team will receive a Holmatro Rescue Equipment Familiarisation Training by Holmatro instructors, including a Masterclass on Practical Cutting Techniques. 
 
Professional organisation
Holmatro’s own Rescue Consultant, Ian Dunbar, is responsible for the overall organisation and set-up of the various extrication scenarios. A group of experienced international assessors from Australia, England, Germany and Ireland will supervise each scenario and determine the winners. Contestants will be judged on their performance in command and on their medical and technical skills. Judging criteria include use of the TEAM Approach (a rescue strategy), use of rescue techniques, medical assessment, victim handling, on-scene communication and general performance. And last but not least, the overall team spirit will also be rewarded!

Besides the honour, the three winning teams will be rewarded with fantastic prizes:

Best team spirit: Holmatro Rescue Tool Set worth € 5,000
 
Live broadcasting
This special edition of the Rescue Experience will be broadcasted Live by means of streaming video, which will be broadcasted on our new event website, specially built for the occasion. Family, friends and colleagues at home can follow what is happening and see the teams in action during the Extrication Challenge. Holmatro will keep you updated on further details through the event website and our social media, before and during this six-day event.

The location of the challenge will be on the outside exhibition ground. Teams can sign up free of charge at the event website. Participation also includes free Interschutz entrance and parking tickets for two days, two copies of the Holmatro training book ‘Vehicle Extrication Techniques’ (in your own language, if available), a set of training posters and a video of the performance during The 35,000 Euro Extrication Challenge. As the number of participants is limited, Holmatro advises rescue teams to sign up as soon as possible.
