Meet the Dustfighter

Dehaco, the Dutch demolition rental specialists, were recently presented with a challenging enquiry from a contractor working at an industrial complex recently devastated by a fire.
The emergency services had successfully managed to bring the blaze under control, however, during the clearance process, a number of hot spots were uncovered, which was risk assessed that they may possibly reignite.
The contractor needed equipment that would ensure that these hot spots were properly contained and they contacted Dehaco for advice. After some discussion with the manufacturer, Dehaco recommended the use of a Dustfighter dust suppression unit, which they believed would be ideally suited for this type of application.
The Dustfighter is commonly used on demolition sites to control harmful residual dust. It produces a fine mist of water through a series of high-pressure jets. The mist is propelled onto the site by a powerful fan, covering a wide area in just a few moments, rendering the area free from unhealthy and hazardous material. The Dust Fighter has a range of up to 60 metres, in windless conditions, and is powered by three-phase electricity whilst mounted on a 3–wheeled trolley.
“We designed the Dustfighter to damp down dust on demolition and construction sites,” explained Paul Hay, DF Ecology’s international business manager, “however we had no hesitation in recommending it for this type of application. The Dustfighter’s fine spray and oscillation would ensure that water is evenly spread across the affected area,” added Paul.
The Dustfighter is manufactured by Milan based, DF Ecology. The company concentrates on the design and development of innovative construction site machinery that incorporates a range of environmental features that brings together benefits for both the operator and the wider environment.
In 2010, the Dustfighter scooped an award from European Rental Association, being described by the judges as a “fantastic niche product and an environmentally important one,” whilst adding, “DF Ecology is always looking for ways to develop the rental market with new and profitable rental products."
Dehaco is based in Lisserbroek, just south of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. The company markets a wide range of demolition and remediation equipment, with a large rental fleet and a centre for testing equipment. Dehaco operates throughout the Benelux region and is one of the leaders in dust control, demolition material, asbestos and soil decontamination.
